Bhí turas Choláiste Naomh Eoin, Inis Meáin chuig Aillte an Mhothair le The Doolin Ferry Company le Bill O Brien, ar cheann de bhuaic phointí na bliana acadúla. Sheol muid ar thuras oideachasúil a rinne ceansú ar áilleacht agus ar gnéithe an nádúir I mbarr a réime. Bhí na radharcanna draíochtúil agus bhí idir mhúinteoirí agus daltaí faoi gheasa ag iontais na nAillte ón mbun. Bhí an criú fíor oibleagáideach agus ba léir go raibh siad bródúil an taithí álainn seo a roinnt linn. Turas scoile den chéad scoth!
Mairéad Ní Fhátharta,
In 2016 we are introducing curriculum based learning via our ‘Learning the Landscape Educational Series’ of school tours for Primary, Second and Third level students. To celebrate and promote Seachtain na Gaeilge our island crew will host your school and give you a very informed and enjoyable cruise under the magical Cliffs Of Moher- all in Irish.
See & learn how these magnificent cliffs were formed 450 million years ago! We’ll teach you about the Marine Environment and the Migrating Seabird Colonies that arrive every year to nest and feed their young.
You will also get to see the cave featured in ‘Harry Potter & the Half Blood Prince’!
Our School Tour with St. John ‘s College of Inis Meáin to the Cliffs of Moher with The Doolin Ferry Company was one of the peak points of the academic year. We launched on an educational journey made on beauty and calming aspects of nature in full swing . The sights were magical, teachers and students were both enthralled by the wonders of the Cliffs of Moher from the bottom. The crew was most obligatory and it was clear that they were proud of this beautiful experience to share. Great School class trip!
This tour will be at 12 noon for 1 hour and available during the school term up until summer. You will need to pre-book with a 20% deposit to reserve your tour, paying the balance on arrival at the pier office when you will also receive your boarding passes. It is best to arrive 15/20 minutes before departure.
All school tours will be hosted by our master sea captain Liam O’Brien who will bring the group under the Cliffs of Moher and guide them ‘as Gaeilge’. There will be lots of opportunity to take photographs and to see (and hear) the migrating seabirds as they busy themselves building nests and feeding their young.
Would you like to book? Just let us know the date and the number of students and teachers. You can forward the deposit by cheque or electronically.
‘School tours as Gaeilge’ need to be pre booked. All departures are from Doolin Pier at 12 noon, arrive at least 15 minutes prior to boarding. Tours may be cancelled due to weather but don’t worry, we will be in touch with you 24 – 48 hours before your trip if the weather is too bad. We will be delighted to reschedule your tour for another time.
